About Derek
Derek was born and raised in California, USA. He learned the love of science and math in the 5th grade from his then teacher. Derek has had almost a decade of experience in tutoring a myriad of grades, ages, skill levels, and disciplines. His first degree was in Cognitive Science (BA) at UC Berkeley; he is finishing up a second bachelor's degree at the University of Oregon in Pure Mathematics (BS). He enjoys walks with his dogs, learning a little of everything, and preparing for his goal of competing on Jeopardy.
